Mastopexy - Breast Lift
If you have ever wished that your breasts were higher, firmer and/or more youthful in appearance, a good option is breast lift surgery.
Another form of Breast Enhancement is Mastopexy. This procedure is great for restoring shape and lift - overall enhancing your figure. A lot of women who pursue breast lift surgery have asymmetric breasts; one may be higher, more firm or developed than the other. This is very common and the results of breast lift surgery are superb. Any breast size may be lifted, however, the lighter and smaller your breasts are, the longer lasting the results.
Breast Lift Surgery
While a breast lift may be performed at any age, Denver Face and Body encourages those interested that have underdeveloped breasts to wait until their development is finished. Another consideration is parenthood planning; breast feeding and pregnancy typically affect the shape and size of breasts, therefore postponing your surgery until after you have children is recommended. However, if you choose to have breast implants before you have children, the milk ducts and nipples are generally not affected by breast enhancement surgery and will not hinder your ability to breast-feed.
Breast Lift Surgery Candidates
You are a good candidate for Breast Lift Surgery if your:
- Breasts are sagging but are a size that you like
- Breasts are flat and un-firm
- Breast and nipples pointing downward
Breast Lift Procedure
Mastopexy, or Breast Lift Surgery, raises the breast and repositions the nipples and areolas (the colored skin surrounding the nipple). Your areolas may also be made smaller. For fullness, breast implants may be inserted.
Typically, breast lift surgery involves incisions that are determined based on the degree of sagging, or ptosis.
- Incisions for mild cases run along the areola
- For moderate cases, incisions are made along the areola and also involve a vertical incision
- For cases that are severe, incisions are made around the areola, vertically and along the underside of the breast crease
