Dead skin cells can dull your appearance and even make you look older. Chemical peels help rejuvenate your skin by removing these cells to reveal healthier looking skin. Located in Lone Tree, Emmett Plastic Surgery, led by Dr. Jennifer Emmett, board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, has helped Denver and Centennial area residents reduce the appearance of skin conditions and dull or rough skin with the use of chemical peels.
What Are Chemical Peels?
A chemical peel is a skin treatment that uses a special solution to remove the outermost layer of skin that is dead or damaged. The treatment reveals healthy, glowing skin behind with less appearance of wrinkles and sun damage.
Benefits of a Chemical Peel
Anyone can benefit from a chemical peel. With the right peel you can experience the following benefits:
- Improved skin tone and texture
- Smoothed out wrinkles and fine lines
- Reduced appearance of acne scarring or discoloration
- Non-invasive procedures
- Little to no downtime
- Growth of healthy, radiant skin

How is a Chemical Peel Applied?
Most chemical peels are quick and non-invasive. However, for deeper peels, such as the Rejuvenize Peel™, a local anesthetic may be given to reduce any discomfort. Your face will first be cleansed to remove any dirt or makeup. The chemical peel solution will then be applied to your face using a light brush or soft applicator. The solution will be left on your face for a specific period of time and then gently removed with a neutralizing solution. Some patients experience mild tingling or burning during application. Most procedures take between 20 to 90 minutes.
What Can I Expect Following a Chemical Peel?
You can expect to see a more youthful and glowing complexion after a chemical peel. Depending on which peel is used, you may experience some peeling after your treatment. Because your skin will be more sensitive, it is important that you continue with a proper skin care regimen that includes wearing sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
How Much Does a Chemical Peel Cost?
The cost for a chemical peel can vary from patient to patient, depending on the extent of treatment. To make your cosmetic procedure more affordable, Dr. Emmett offers financing through CareCredit®, Bank SNB, and Prosper® Healthcare Lending. We also accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards.
