Laser Skin Resurfacing
In the past, cosmetic surgery was the only option to erase signs of aging by eliminating wrinkles, skin imperfections and tightening the skin. Now, laser skin resurfacing gives people a non-surgical option that treats deep, thick blemishes for a natural looking glow. Located in Lone Tree, Emmett Plastic Surgery, led by Dr. Jennifer Emmett, board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, has helped Denver and Centennial area residents tighten and regenerate their skin with laser skin resurfacing.
What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing, sometimes referred to as laser skin tightening, is a treatment that uses pulsating laser lights to tighten and correct irregularities on the skin. Using beams of light, the top skin is removed layer by layer. This approach heats the dermis and stimulates collagen growth. By removing the dead and damaged skin layers, healthy skin is revealed. Once the new skin is healed, it will fill in the crevices and wrinkles, creating smoother and more radiant looking skin. Laser skin resurfacing is similar to microdermabrasion and chemical peels, however, those resurfacing methods are only able to treat a thin layer of skin, whereas lasers can treat much deeper layers of skin.

Is Laser Skin Resurfacing Right For Me?
If you are looking for a non-surgical approach to treating deep lines and wrinkles, along with other skin imperfections, such as sun damage or liver spots, laser skin resurfacing may be right for you. Laser skin tightening and resurfacing will help give you fresh new skin that leaves you glowing.
How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment Work?
During a laser skin tightening or resurfacing treatment, Dr. Emmett may begin by giving you a local anesthetic, depending on the amount of skin being treated. She will then apply the laser to your skin in a uniform pattern. Only the top layer of the dermis is treated, leaving the layers underneath undamaged. The top layer of damaged skin cells is vaporized, removing imperfections.
How Much Does Laser Resurfacing Cost?
Laser skin resurfacing treatments are considered to be elective, so most insurance providers won’t cover the costs. To help make laser resurfacing affordable, Dr. Emmett offers financing through CareCredit®, Bank SNB, and Prosper® Healthcare Lending. We also accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards.
