Swimsuit season is here, and some of us are more excited about that than others. It’s when we show off more of our body than ever before. And, let’s face it, most of us are a little self-conscious about at least one part of our body. If you’re not excited about finding a small bikini top for too-small breasts, keep reading. We can help you find the right implants for you.
Maybe you feel that your breasts are too small for your body structure, or you have one breast that is larger than the other. We can help you overcome those shortcomings. Learn more about breast augmentation and implants below.
Type of Implants
There are two main types of breast implants that you can choose from: saline and silicone. There are pros and cons to each style or type. In case of a rupture, saline implants can be naturally absorbed by the body safely. The incision for saline implants is also smaller, since the implant is filled after it has been placed inside the breast area.
Silicone, on the other hand, will need to be surgically removed if the implant does happen to rupture. Silicone is sometimes preferred just as a matter of taste as well. Some people believe it feels more like natural breast tissue and want that natural effect.
Where to Place Your Implants
Your implants can be placed in more than one area of the body. For example, we can place your implants beneath or on top of the chest muscle. Again, there are pros and cons to each option. Implants placed beneath the muscle have a lower risk of capsular contracture, where scar tissue forms around the implant, leading to a tightening sensation.
The other option is to place the implant underneath the breast tissue, but on top of the chest muscle. This makes for an faster and easier recovery after surgery, though it may pose issues during mammograms that you should be aware of.
